Financial Support and how it works?
Depending on your financial situation, one of the below financial support routes maybe applicable. The below information is on how to use these support tools. For further information please contact the relevant company/government department
Prices shown are cost per sessions
Please note: your dealings with Head of the Class remain the same. Fees must still be paid in advance to Head of the Class even if you are claiming or about to claim for Childcare support via the below methods. Reimbursement of fees must be sought from the credit/grant providers, not Head of the Class (with exception to CCGPS funding route).
Working Tax Credits
You can get help with up to 70% of your childcare costs subject to a maximum weekly limit:
• £122.50 a week for one child
• £210 a week for 2 or more children

How it works
Call their helpline, 0345 300 3900, to claim, they'll need some details about your childcare provider, Head of the Class.
• name, address with postcode, name of registering
body & number
• your average weekly childcare costs

You need to keep your receipts, as they may request these at any time.
Salary Sacrifice
If you joined a childcare voucher scheme or a directly contracted childcare scheme on or before 4 October 2018. Alternatively, you could claim Tax-Free childcare credits.
You can keep getting vouchers or directly contracted childcare as long as:
-
your wages were adjusted on or before 4 October 2018
-
you stay with the same employer and they continue to run the scheme
-
you do not take an unpaid career break of longer than a year
You can take up to £55 a week of your wages, which you do not pay tax or National Insurance on.
How much you can take depends on the amount you earn and when you joined the scheme.
Tax-Free Childcare Credits
You can get up to £500 every 3 months (up to £2,000 a year) for each of your children to help with the costs of childcare. This goes up to £1,000 every 3 months if a child is disabled (up to £4,000 a year).

If you get Tax-Free Childcare, you’ll set up an online childcare account for your child. For every £8 you pay into this account, the government will pay in £2 to use to pay your provider.
Universal Credit
If you and your partner (unless single) claim Universal Credit, and both work, you could get up to 85% of childcare costs paid back to you. You will usually only get the money back after the childcare actually happens.
The maximum amount a month is:
-
£1,014.63 for one child
-
£1,739.37 for 2 or more children
How it works
• Speak or send a journal message to your work coach at
Universal Credit first, e.g: "Hi, I would like to apply for
childcare costs, am I eligible?".
• If you are eligible, you will need to register us as a childcare provider, and then before just before the end of your assessment period submit the invoice for that period. For example, you get paid the first of every month (1st Feb), you would submit an invoice from us for the childcare provided and paid for in the previous month (Jan).
Childcare Grant Payments
You may be eligible for help with your childcare costs if you:
-
are a full-time higher education student
-
have children under 15, or under 17 if they have special educational needs
The grant:
-
does not have to be paid back
-
is paid on top of your other student finance

You can get up to
-
£193.62 a week for one child, or
-
£331.95 a week for two or more children.

How it works
-
You will need to apply through the student finance portal.
-
Once approved, you will need to link your child to us as the childcare providers.
-
Weekly, we will request payment, and you will be notified to review and approve. The outstanding 15% will be paid by you and you will be given a receipt for this.
